Community Building
Through community building programs, WIN works to train and empower community leaders to work with their community, local and national resources, and local governments, to resolve community issues and build thriving, vibrant, stable communities. This empowerment makes a real and measurable impact on our neighborhoods.
Partnering with WIN, neighbors have devised innovative ways to address community needs. To improve learning disparities, they established WIN’s summer camp. In response to living in a food desert, they created community gardens, a monthly produce pop-up, and community market. The Beekman Street Corridor Coalition has worked to improve community safety by collaborating with the Ohio Department of Transportation and the City of Cincinnati to enhance street safety and walkability.
Targeted city neighborhoods include the Beekman Corridor – South Cumminsville, Millvale, North Fairmount, and South Fairmount.

“Working In Neighborhoods is invaluable to the Coalition. They provide technical support for our community meetings, our community council meetings, and administrative support to the council, and a lot of moral support. They’re a champion for us.”
