WIN’s Near-Net-Zero Urban Village in South Cumminsville will feature 25 new homes built with green technology and 25 retrofitted homes for legacy homeowners. 15 retrofits have already been completed and in 2024, we began construction on the first two homes of seven in phase one of new construction. By using green technology in the housing design, WIN is addressing issues like the urban heat island effect, health concerns linked to older housing stock, and energy affordability. Your gift will directly fund the construction of sustainable, affordable homes for hardworking, low-to-moderate income families.

Our Mission

Empower people to make informed choices for themselves and their neighborhoods through community building, homeownership, and economic learning.

Our Programs

Our Work

For 45 years, Working In Neighborhoods (WIN) has built sustainable communities through homeownership programs, financial literacy training, and community leadership development. Our goal is to meet people where they are, empowering them to transform their families and neighborhoods. WIN’s partnerships with financial and civic leaders have enabled low-to-moderate-income families to become homeowners, breaking the cycle of poverty by building equity.

WIN has supported housing initiatives, including new builds, rehabs, senior renovations, and supportive apartments. We also launched the Near-Net-Zero Urban Village, integrating cutting-edge techonology into low-income communities to reduce utility costs and emissions.

WIN offers economic learning programs, homebuyer training, and HUD-certified counseling for homeownership and financial stability. Beyond housing, WIN addresses community needs with initiatives like summer camps, community gardens, and safety improvements, empowering families to thrive.
