“Keeping kids engaged in learning is very important because they can lose up to 30% of what they learned during the school year over summer,” said Evans. WIN’s camp is packed with activities that use math, science, and reading to encourage learning while including lots of summer fun like swimming and outdoor play.  Evans enjoys carrying on her mother Marilyn Evans’s legacy of providing children and their parents with the opportunity to have a great summer in a safe, neighborhood environment.

This year, kids ages 5 – 12 will have the opportunity to learn about environmental, health, and financial sustainability. Campers will also engage in some new experiences, including getting to meet an African Penguin when it visits WIN’s campus, learning how money works from WIN partner First Financial Bank, exploring cultures from around the world with folks from the Cincinnati Museum Center, and traveling to Columbus to visit the Center of Science and Industry (COSI).

Bringing the World to Our Backyard runs Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. from June 11 through August 2.
