A group of Fifth Third volunteers stand in front of the the e-bus in 2023A group of volunteers called the Old Timers stands in front of a home on Cedar Avenue after a long days work in 2023.Thanks to your support, a lot was accomplished in 2023. We completed construction on and sold our 20th home in College Hill to a first-time homebuyer. New housing development opportunities are in the works, including a new rehab in South Cumminsville and WIN’s Near Net Zero Urban Village. Volunteers have been hard at work preparing these homes for renovation.

Along with housing development, WIN collaborated with Fifth Third, United Way, the Hamilton County Treasurer’s Office, the Greater Cincinnati Realtist Association, and the Cincinnati Vice Mayor’s Office on community outreach events focused on financial literacy and homebuying. These outreach events allow us to connect with new clients and meet them where they’re at.

In 2023, 73 volunteers contributed 292 hours of labor to support Produce Pop-Ups, distributing over 26 tons of food and helping an average of 116 families each month. We’re especially grateful to the Crane employees who come back each month to hand out fresh produce to Beekman Corridor residents.

The Beekman Community Market hosted three pilot markets last year. The Beekman Street Corridor Coalition market action team conducted interest surveys, formed partnerships, and used their experience at the pilot markets to plan for 2024 and beyond. Markets were operated by six resident volunteers; nineteen community vendors displayed their products for sale; and volunteers distributed 3,027 pounds of locally grown produce and protein to neighbors for free.

We’re looking forward to the future and hope you’ll join us.
